Bob and Helen Hughes' home has been re-roofed with 36 C21e solar electric roof tiles from Solarcentury, reducing 1,554kWh per year, the 1.86kWp new roof provides over 50% of the homes' electrical needs, powering the ground source heat pump, and saving 883kg of C02 emissions each year.
The Hughes' home, located is an 18th Century Georgian building renovated with environmental specifications including the solar electric roof and ground source heating.
“I have a lot of future-proof satisfaction, as we have no idea what will happen to electricity prices over the next ten to fifteen years. We really want to inspire others to do the same,” the Hughes' said.
