The Solmetric SunEye now includes updated software that enable MCS shade diagrams to be produced on-site.

As part of the revised MCS standards for solar, installers of PV are required to produce a shade analysis during the initial survey. The newly-updated software will allow installers to provide a saved shade analysis document at the point of the MCS audit using the Solmetric SunEye.

The shade analysis tool uses a calibrated fish eye lens to capture the solar horizon line; using the unit’s GPS data, compass and inclinometer allows the Suneye to accurately align the sky line in the correct place – removing the potential for human error when hand drawing the line.
