South Downs Solar has completed a discreet 43.94kWp solar installation at the University of Brighton in Sussex.

The company installed the system using Sunpower 333W modules in order to reduce the University’s annual energy bill as well as its carbon emissions.

Since its installation, the 43.94kWp solar PV system has produced 37 percent more electricity than the SAP2009 calculation predicted.

Daniel Lawes, Technical Director at South Downs Solar, who designed the system, said: “We are seeing this [increase in expected output] time and time again with our installs and believe that this is down to our expertise and clear understanding of the technology. We are committed to providing our clients with the most efficient solar systems for each individual location.”

The University of Brighton installation was completed under a partnership between the university, Pilbeam Construction and South Downs Solar.
