Renewable energy specialist Sungift Solar has become an authorized supplier of BenQ Solar modules in the UK and has launched the product at Solar Power UK 2012, held October 2-4 in Birmingham.
The two BenQ Solar modules now available in the UK market are the Green Triplex PM245P00 multi-crystalline PV module and the Green Triplex PM250M00 Gen 2.0 mono-crystalline PV module. The BenQ Solar modules are manufactured by Taiwan-based AUO which is part of BenQ Group.
The Green Triplex PM245P00 multi-crystalline PV module is the company’s best selling module and is ideal for domestic installation, Albert HY Lin, Account Director for AUO Green Energy Germany told Solar Power Portal. The modules for the UK market will be manufactured in AUO’s facilities located in the Czech Republic.
Also speaking with Solar Power Portal, Gabriel Wondrausch, the Director of Sungift Solar, said that they decided to partner with BenQ Solar after taking a visit to the company’s manufacturing facilities in Taiwan and recognised the company’s high standards during the manufacturing process.
The modules have already been used in several UK projects including a 4.9MW ground-mounted solar park located in Westmill which completed last year. However, the modules were branded under the AUO brand name. The rebranding to BenQ Solar occurred in February this year.
