Exeter-based installer SunGift Solar has appointed management specialist Neil Durno as its new Head of Business Development. The new appointment will see Durno take responsibility for the South West solar specialist’s commercial projects, customer experience, and supplier development activities.

Commenting on his appointment, Durno said: “SunGift’s business has developed hugely over the past couple of years, so I am joining the company at a very exciting time.”

Durno added: “As SunGift has developed, we have grown up with some of the best and most highly-regarded manufacturers in the industry and become known for our outstanding service and dependability.  These manufacturers trust us to distribute their products and offer the necessary technical backup, and I hope to develop these relationships further so that our trade customers get even more benefit from the services we provide for them.”

The new appointment marks another step forward for the company, who recently launched a distribution arm, opened a new trade warehouse and secured a number of commercial-scale solar projects.

Previously, Durno worked as a UK national Sales Manager for renewable energy equipment manufacturer PRAMAC, following a move from electronics distribution manufacturer, RS Components.

Durno concluded: “I see a great opportunity for people who need to rely upon reliable, efficient systems and are looking for a trusted, quality-focused business to design and install these. The recommendations we get from our existing customers tell us that SunGift Solar is this business.”
