Provisional results for the second auction in Ireland’s Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS) have been published, showing that 1,534.1MW of solar PV was successful – equivalent to 78% of total capacity.
High grid connection costs resulted in a solar strike price in Ireland’s first Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS) auction “significantly higher than anywhere else in Europe” according to the Irish Solar Energy Association (ISEA).
Limiting solar’s share in the Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS) to 10% is “disappointing”, the Irish Solar Energy Association (ISEA) has said, whilst welcoming the ambition shown in decarbonisation.
