Rhonda Cynon Taf council has granted Windel Energy planning permission for a 9.9MW solar project. The project will connect at Talbot Green substation in Ynysmaerdy.
Cumberland Council has granted planning permission for a 200MW/400MWh BESS project from developers Recurrent Energy and Windel Energy which, unless a new grid connection date is agreed, won’t start construction until 2029.
Recurrent Energy, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar, has secured a multi-currency revolving credit facility worth up to €1.3 billion (£1.1 billion) to finance new solar projects in several countries, including the UK.
