Solar Power Portal caught up with Matt Harper, Invinity’s chief commercial officer, to discuss how the merger between Avalon and redT came about, what’s on Invinity’s to-do list and the unique challenges for flow batteries over other storage technologies.

RedT has received a provisional notice to manufacture 2MW of storage from Pivot Power, as it unveils a partnership with vanadium producer Bushveld Minerals.

RedT’s merger with US storage firm Avalon continues to progress, with the transaction set to be completed around the end of March 2020.

RedT has confirmed it has agreed outline terms for a reverse takeover of fellow vanadium redox flow battery firm Avalon, a move which the firm said would create a “leading player” in the energy storage market.
