Renewable energy installer, TGC Renewables, has successfully gained planning permission for a 3.8MW solar park near Hayle, Cornwall.

The project will sit over 6.2 hectares of local class 3b agricultural grazing land. The approved solar park will provide the farm owner with a guaranteed rental income for the next 25 years and TGC Renewables estimates that the 3.8MW park will produce enough energy to power 796 local homes.

Commenting on the approval of the park, Roy Amner, Director at TGC Renewables said: “We are delighted that after detailed consultation with all interested parties, our planning team secured the full support of the Strategic Planning Committee for this development.”

The site will be home to around 12,000 solar modules and almost 200 racking tables. The nature of the site's design will mean that the farmer has the option to graze livestock across the site whilst the park is generating.
