Home improvement company Travis Perkins has collaborated with solar installer Solarlec to add a 157.5kW rooftop array to its regional distribution centre near Warrington, Cheshire.
The installation comprises Solfex Enhance panels and has been predicted to save the group just under £10,000 in energy costs throughout its first year, while also netting more than £11,800 in feed-in tariff subsidies.
Over its 25-year lifespan the system is expected to provide benefits to the company equivalent of more than £900,000.
“As a group we pay large carbon levies so the choice of solar will reduce our total energy costs and therefore reduce our carbon emissions,” said Haydn Young, group energy manager at Travis Perkins.
