Trina Solar has announced the second generation of its Honey technology, the Honey Ultra range of modules.
The solar manufacturer has claimed that the new technology has achieved a new world record for the output of a multicrystalline module after the standard-size Honey Ultra module (1650x992mm) achieved 284.7 watts per power output under test conditions at TUV Rheinland.
Trina claims that it is able to achieve such an increase in efficiency through a combination of honey cell texturing and thinner bus bars and fingers which maximise the active surface of the module.
The company is also showcasing Trinasmart, a new module-integrated solution that helps maximise the energy generation of modules.
The solar installer is currently showcasing both new technologies at Intersolar in Munich. Trina Solar are exhibiting in hall A1, booth 280 from June 13-15.
