PV module manufacturer Trina Solar has received ISO 14064-1:2006 verification from the British Standards Institute.
The ISO 14064 verification recognises the strides that Trina Solar has taken in order to establish a systematic methodology to quantify and report GHG-related information in accordance with ISO's rigorous international requirements.
“This verification is a recognition Trina Solar's ability and commitment to sustainable development and emission reduction efficiency within the PV industry,” said Jifan Gao, Chairman and CEO of Trina Solar.
“Given the increased awareness and the effects of global warming, we are determined to act responsibly through this initiative and commit ourselves to measuring, monitoring and reducing green house gas emissions. We believe Trina Solar is the first company in the solar sector in China to have officially received this verification.”
BSI, the global standards developer and leading provider of greenhouse gas verifications, performed a stringent audit to ensure Trina Solar's conformance to the ISO 14064 1:2006 requirements.
Trina Solar’s efforts to inventory, report and reduce green house gas emissions will allow all stakeholders to verify the organisation’s GHG emission claims, opening the door for other manufacturers to follow suite.
