Green energy firms Romag and Cleaner Air Solutions UK are collaborating on a project to create the largest solar panel installation in the North-East. Under the terms of the agreement, Romag, the photovoltaic glass specialist, will install solar photovoltaics on Cleaner Air Solutions’ factory in Consett, County Durham. The work, scheduled for completion before Christmas, will bring more than half a megawatt of solar power capability to the plant.
John Barton, project director of Renew, the North-East’s low-carbon and environmental technologies agency which is backing the factory owners said, “Cleaner Air Solutions is a great example of how the North-East is becoming a renewables hub. It has been a pleasure to support the company as it has grown and developed over the past four years and it’s a great model of success for the region.
“We would encourage any business, regardless of size or experience, to contact us if they have a low-carbon or environmental technology concept or project that we can support and help make a commercial reality.”
