A new solar mapping program developed by The GeoInformation Group (TGG) identifies UK properties suitable for solar photovoltaic (PV) installation, as well as calculating each building’s potential for solar productivity.
Combining a UK solar model with a unique software workflow, the program is capable of assessing between 1,000 and 10,000 properties per week against a nationally validated address database.
Local authorities, panel installers and housing associations will make use of the assessment figures which help identify suitable roof area, calculate the number of panels a roof can accommodate as well as its solar productivity. From this, the return on investment under the feed-in tariff can easily be determined.
The program supports all aspects of the solar market from its property identification through to financial assessment services.
