UPOWA has signed a new supply agreement with Roofspace Solutions that will see it provide its roof-integrated solar system, Inline Solar, for further builds.
Inline Solar is designed for quick, safe and easy installs, and complies with all building regulations and British Standards for wind resistance, fire safety and weather tightness.
It has the highest power output per m2 of any roof-integrated solar panel on the market today according to UPOWA, and is 100% recyclable.
“We are delighted to strike this new supply agreement with Roofspace Solutions, a market-leading provider of pre-fabricated roofs and houses,” said James Bull, managing director at UPOWA.
“The supply of UPOWA Inline Solar systems will future-proof Roofspace’s innovative building solutions for net-zero and increase the benefits to its customers.”
UPOWA is the new name for HBS New Energies, which rebranded in May 2022 following being acquired by building materials distributor Brickability Group. The investment from the acquisition will be used to expand its solar PV, battery storage and electric vehicle charging installation services.
“Our partnership with UPOWA is in response to the housing sector’s changing landscape,” said Paul Terry, managing director at Roofspace Solutions.
“The UK is on its net-zero journey and as an industry and a business, it is our responsibility to do what we can to contribute to this, albeit ambitious, target.”
The partnership comes after Part L of the Building Regulations coming into action on 1 June 2022, which requires a 31% reduction in carbon emissions with a particular focus on the use of low-carbon technologies such as solar.
