The recently-opened Waxman Training Academy has now received official approval from the National Association for Professional Inspectors and Testers (NAPIT) and the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating engineers (CIPHE).
The Academy, located in Waxman’s Elland, West Yorkshire, offers a selection of courses on solar PV, solar thermal, water regulations, heat pump installation, unvented hot water, biomass as well as practical sessions working from heights.
The courses are also Logic Certified, with the exception of biomass and working at heights. Solar PV and solar thermal courses meet the training entry requirements for the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS); the unvented hot water course is recognised by Competent Person Schemes (CPS); and the water regulations course is fully recognised by the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS).
Simon Pattison, head of the centre, said: “The Academy enables installers to develop and update their skill set with a hands-on course that is heavily centred on practical experience.”
