Ahead of the launch of the domestic renewable heat (RHI), Waxman Training Academy has received approval to offer courses under the RHI Training Support Scheme (TSS).
The new initiative has been designed by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) to provide candidates who are already qualified in heating and plumbing the opportunity to bolster their skills and learn about renewable heat technology.
The course covers biomass, solar thermal and heat pump technologies, allowing installers to boost their portfolio in anticipation of a rise in interest due to the RHI.
DECC recently launched a £500,000 training fund to try and encourage installers to learn the skills required to install and maintain renewable heating systems under the RHI. As part of the fund, DECC is running a voucher scheme that will offer up to 75% off the cost of the training.
Waxman Training Academy will accept vouchers under the scheme for its heat pump and solar thermal courses.
