Developer Wirsol Energy has connected a 29MW solar farm in the UK.
The Elms Farm project and the 13MW Roves Farm project have now been solar to the Bluefield Solar Income Fund (BSIF), a Guernsey-registered yield co.
Both projects will receive 1.4 renewable obligation certificates (ROCs) per MWh having connected before the scheme closes to projects over 5MW at the end of the month. Projects will only be eligible for support from the competitive contracts for difference scheme, thereafter.
“We are clearly pleased to have successfully connected both sites ready for qualification under 1.4ROCs,” said Mark Hogan, managing director, Wirsol, a subsidiary of Wircon. “The build progress has been efficient and the teams have worked well to hit the necessary deadlines.”
Hogan added that good relationships with the landowners at each site and the work of its interconnection provider, DNO Consulting, had helped smooth the path.
“The successful connection of these two solar parks is a great milestone for Bluefield, taking BSIF’s total installed capacity to 204MW,” said Anthony Brindle, Investment Associate at Bluefield Partners, the investment advisor to BSIF. “Following the positive experience with these projects, Wirsol and Bluefield are now actively discussing extending the relationship to work on further projects together, building upon the now established partnership between the two teams,” he added.
Wirsol and BSIF both said they expected to continue their collaboration.
