Technical advisory firm SgurrEnergy is to rebrand as Wood Group next month, nearly seven years after the energy services firm acquired an equity stake in the energy services company.
Sgurr will formally adopt the Wood Group brand from early May with Wood Group claiming that the move will “support the uniting of Wood Group’s diverse individual businesses”.
The rebrand will also see Sgurr relocate to Wood Group’s headquarters at St Vincent Plaza in Glasgow. An official office launch is to take place in the summer.
Jan Dell, vice president of clean energy, water and climate at Wood Group, said the move would provide the company with a platform for further international growth.
“We will continue to leverage Wood Group’s global network of offices and technical resource to enhance delivery of integrated services for renewable energy developers, lenders, investors and operators,” he said.
Wood Group originally acquired a significant equity stake in SgurrEnergy in September 2010.
