The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) has today announced that from April 2013 all businesses listed on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange will have to openly report their levels of greenhouse gas emissions. The requirements will not cover private companies or those listed on the Alternative Investment Market.

Adding to the recent influx of positive solar news Lark Energy has today announced that it has installed a total of 15MW of solar panels across the East of England and East Midlands in a combination of rooftop and solar farm projects. To date the company has installed approximately 65,000 photovoltaic panels which in total generate enough electricity to power 4,000 households.

Chiltern District Council has installed solar PV on the roof of the King George V Council Offices and the Chesham Leisure Centre in a bid to reduce rising energy costs and their dependence on electricity suppliers. The project was completed by InstaGen in November 2011.
