After a six-month trial international clothing retailer SuperGroup has decided to renew its energy contract with 100 percent renewable electricity supplier, Good Energy.
Under the arrangement, SuperGroup’s 72 retail stores and all UK warehouses and offices are powered by renewable electricity.
Juliet Davenport, founder and CEO of Good Energy, said: “We are delighted that SuperGroup has renewed its contract with Good Energy, affirming its decision to invest in renewable energy by working with us.
“It is fantastic to see how successful mainstream brands are now starting to demonstrate real commitment to a renewable energy future by choosing Good Energy. We look forward to continuing to work closely with them to help them make a difference to climate change.”
Toby Abbott, Sustainability Specialist at SuperGroup, said: “We are extremely pleased to have reached an agreement with Good Energy that extends our commitment to UK renewables into 2013. Alongside active energy management, procuring 100 percent renewable electricity helps SuperGroup to significantly reduce the carbon emissions of our property portfolio, in line with our environmental policy and objectives.
“We are very proud of our collaborative relationship with Good Energy which also delivers multiple wider business benefits.”
Good Energy also provides SuperGroup with equipment and software to facilitate better energy management across the company.
Since the first contract with Good Energy begun in August 2011, the size of SuperGroup’s property portfolio has grown by approximately 10 percent.
