Clean energy company Egg has seen enquiries for solar panels rise by 830% in the past four months as the UK was rocked by successive heatwaves in comparison to last year.

With temperatures across the UK soaring to over 30°C amid last week’s heatwave, The Eco Experts has disclosed that a record amount for searches for “solar panels” had been reached.

During the heatwave on Tuesday 19 July, solar power output met up to a quarter of the UK’s power demand.
