Rexel has been chosen as British Gas’s solar supplier for its domestic and commercial solar PV business for UK and Ireland.
The three year contract will see British Gas make use of Rexel’s 440 branches across the UK and Ireland as a national logistics platform. The move will allow the energy giant to collect all materials required for a domestic PV install from a branch local to the proposed site – reducing associated transport cost and emissions. British Gas’s commercial projects will also benefit from the deal, with equipment being sent directly from Rexel’s national distribution network.
Colin MacDonald , Head of Microgeneration at British Gas, said that Rexel’s dedication was a deciding factor when awarding the contract. MacDonald continued: “Rexel’s market knowledge combined with the detailed sales support they offered left us convinced that we could build a strong partnership together.”
