Forster, a Scottish roofing specialist, has installed a Redland solar photovoltaic system on their own offices in Brechin, Scotland.

Adding to the number of solar installations completed before the December 12 deadline, the National Trust’s 37.5kWp project is now generating renewable energy in Wales. Delivered by Dulas, the ground-mounted system at the Grade I listed Llanerchaeron property has been combined with the Trust’s existing 7.5kWp solar PV array.

Solar panels have been installed on Wolverhampton’s Civic Centre roof to help Wolverhampton City Council cut utility costs and help protect the environment.

Rookery Business Park in Attleborough, Norfolk, has installed solar photovoltaics across 15 roofs in a bid to reduce electricity costs. The renewable energy generated by the 278kWp of solar PV will be sold to the private park’s tenants at a reduced rate.

The Sheffield Fire and Rescue Command Centre on Eyre St in the centre of Sheffield has had a 10kWp system installed by Solar Roof Solutions. As a heavy consumer of electricity, the 10kWp installation will help the fire station to significantly offset carbon emissions and dramatically reduce its electricity bills.

The Scottish National Equestrian Centre (SNEC) in West Lothian has installed a large solar array in order to slash its carbon footprint, negate increasing energy price rises and benefit from feed-in tariff payments. The solar installation marks the second major green investment project on the Oatridge College estate near Broxburn.

Dinnington-based company Solar Roof Solutions Ltd has fitted a free solar PV system on the roof of Amy’s House, a local charity shop.  Run by volunteers the charity shop supports Amy’s House – a respite facility that cares for special needs children and their siblings.

Portsmouth Water has invested in solar photovoltaic technology to power six water treatment works. The 50kWp systems were designed and installed by Solarcentury to provide direct on-site electricity for pumping and treating water.

Community Energy Warwickshire, a local energy co-operative, has financed the installation of a solar PV array at Stratford-upon-Avon Hospital. The installation marks the first time a community-based renewable energy project has been installed on an NHS site.

Riders Junior School in Havent has received a free solar installation as part of Keep Britain Tidy’s Eco-Schools Solar programme.
