Working to clean up the often dirty transport image, Bournemouth Airport has installed a 74.98kWp solar photovoltaic array as part of its £45m redevelopment programme. By utilising the technology at its new arrivals hall the seaside location is now believed to house Europe’s first carbon neutral airport building.

REB2B has supplied the modules and inverters for a 74.3kW industrial rooftop installation at PFG Fabrication in Bampton, Mid Devon.  Comprising 354 Sovello SV-X210 PV modules, the completed system exceeds the 50kW limit imposed by Government, and therefore beats the feed-in tariff cuts due on the first of next month.

Solar South West recently completed a 1MW installation at Coombe Farm in Crewkerne, Somerset. The project begun on April 17 this year, and was fully commissioned by June 24, allowing it to benefit from the higher feed-in tariff rates.

Shropshire-based salad grower PDM Produce now benefits from solar energy thanks to its recently-installed 140kWp roof-mounted system. The company decided to install a solar energy system as it was keen to do something to reduce its carbon footprint but was also concerned with the impact that rising electricity costs will have on business.

A major refurbishment of the headquarters of the Ocean Housing Group in St Austell means that the building now showcases a state-of-the-art photovoltaic installation featuring an integrated Kingspan Roof PowerPanel system. The initial phase of the project, which was completed in October 2010, involved replacing the old asbestos roof with over 1200m2 of Kingspan KS1000 RW insulated panels.

Vigor Renewables has commissioned a 500kW peak solar PV roof mounted development on the warehouse roofs of the logistics company, Debach Enterprises which is based in Ipswich, Suffolk.

Joju Solar has installed a 1.8kW solar photovoltaics system for Wentworth Primary School in Hackney. The system, which has been fitted to a shelter where the children play, will save the school money on electricity bills as well as providing them with feed-in tariff payments for the next 25 years.

The newly constructed National Composites Centre (NCC) features a 138.46kWp roof-mounted solar photovoltaic installation, incorporating over 600 Moser Baer 230Wp photovoltaic panels generating enough electricity to help power the Centre and offset the building’s carbon emissions.
