Six UK universities are currently combining forces to develop a portable battery pack for British soldiers that will be powered by solar energy. By replacing the currently-used device the forces’ power packs can be made up to 50% lighter.

Enplanner, the online tool for local authority planning departments, developers and individuals wishing to work out how much carbon dioxide proposed developments will produce, was launched last week during the ecobuild exhibition in London.

Expanding its presence in the UK solar market, Solon has now accredited all of its currently available modules under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).
