A 105kWp solar PV system has been installed on the roof of the NEWS waste recovery facility at Costessey near Norwich. After evaluating a number of different renewable energy technologies, The Norse Group Board gave the green light to install the £300,000 system in April 2011 as the 6000m2 south-facing roof was ideally suited to benefit from solar PV technology.

Following the Government’s recent FiT cuts, Brighton Energy Co-operative has been forced to postpone the launch of its share offer as it waits for the results of the FiT review for community schemes, which is due December 23. 

The refurbishment of Whitebeck Court in Manchester offered the opportunity for Myriad Solar, in conjuction with Wates Living Space, to install a bespoke solar PV system that maximised both the horizontal space offered by the roof and the vertical space offered by the south-facing façade.

KLNE has appointed Trilight, Scotland’s largest independent supplier in the lighting industry, as the distributor and service partner for KLNE’s ‘Sunteams’ line of inverters in the UK and Ireland.

Myriad, working alongside construction company Wates and consultant Hilson Moran Partnership, has completed a 54.76kWp installation on the new Woolwich Civic Offices, London.

Many buildings in the UK are often overlooked in terms of their suitability for solar photovoltaics as they are placed on the Statutory List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest, or classed as a ‘listed building’. However, The Greener Group, a Chester based solar installer, has completed a groundbreaking solar photovoltaic installation on a listed building. It is one of the first installations of its kind in the country.

In light of the recent feed-in tariff announcement the UK Solar Trade Association (STA) is working on a response to the consultation which it will circulate early next week. This response will be followed by a members' meeting where the response and the Associations' position will be finalised. 

Myriad has completed the installation of an 11.84kWp system on Chalkhill Primary School in Wembley. The system will generate 10,163kWh of clean electricity for the school, resulting in annual CO2 savings of over 5.7 tonnes.

The London Borough of Havering has installed a 14.7kWp system on the roof of the Elm Park Library after securing LCBP Phase 2 grant funding for the project.

Myriad Power, in partnership with Gable UK and Volker Fitzpatrick, has designed and installed a clamp system PV installation for the new Hoe Valley Community Centre in Woking, Surrey.
